This help article will help you flash msOS image to a SSD from a running USB. The OS running on the USB can be msOS, but since presented method works on any Ubuntu environment, it can be some other mining OS as well. We still suggest directly flashing SSD with Etcher, but if you don't have appropriate cable available, you can follow the steps explained here.
imgfile. Remember the path as you will need it for flashing and transfer the
imgfile from your computer to your rig (right click on file and select "Upload").
imgto the following directory:
/home/minerstat/minerstat-os, which is the directory that opens once you connect to your console.
lsblkto find the drive letter of the USB that is plugged in. Drive letter starts with
sdand ends with
c, or any other letter. Make sure to not select the drive that is currently mounted.
sudo dd if=/home/minerstat/minerstat-os/msos-xx.img of=/dev/sdX bs=1M status=progresswhere
msos-xx.imgis the name of the image that you uploaded to USB and
sdXis the drive letter you found in step 6, for example
You can use any directory you like, just make sure to use the command with correct path.
