Dual mining

Dual mining was quite popular in 2017 as you could mine Ethereum and a lot of different coins at the same time. Because the other - dual - coins are harder to mine these days, the popularity of dual mining has slowly decreased. Nevertheless, since some miners are still interested in dual mining, dual mining is possible with minerstat as well.

Mining clients that support dual mining:

  • Claymore ETH miner that allows you Ethash mining along with Decred, Siacoin, Lbry, Pascal, Blake (2s), and Keccak;
  • PhoenixMiner ETH that allows you Ethash mining along with Blake2s on AMD GPUs.
  • Gminer that allows you Ethash mining along with Blake (2s-Kadena).
Note Due to recent unpopularity of dual mining the default configs in minerstat have dual mining disabled, so if you want to enable it, you will need to change the config of the individual mining client. You can do this in the advanced config section.

Claymore dual miner

To activate dual mining for Claymore dual miner, you will need to add and update the following parameters:

  • -dpool to set the pool address for the second coin.
  • -dwal to set the wallet address for the second coin.
  • -dpsw to set the password you use on the selected pool for the second coin.
  • -mode 0 to activate dual mining (-mode 1 is to disable dual mining).
  • -dcoin to select the second coin to mine in dual mode. Possible options are: -dcoin dcr, -dcoin sc, -dcoin lbc, -dcoin pasc, -dcoin blake2s, and -dcoin keccak.

Phoenix dual miner

To activate dual mining on Phoenix dual miner, you will need to add and update the following parameters:

  • -dpool to set the pool address for the second coin.
  • -dwal to set the wallet address for the second coin.
  • -dpass to set the password you use on the selected pool for the second coin.
  • -dworker to set up the worker's name for the second coin.
  • -mode 0 to activate dual mining (-mode 1 is to disable dual mining).
  • -dcoin blake2s to select the second coin to mine in dual mode.

Gminer dual miner

To activate dual mining on Gminer dual miner, you will need to add and update the following parameters:

  • --algo eth+kda to determine which algorithms are included in the dual mining - in this example Ethash and Blake (2s-Kadena).
  • --dserver to set the pool address for the second coin.
  • --dport to set the port for the second coin (can be (AUTO) if the port is already included in the pool address).
  • --duser to set up the wallet address for the second coin.
--algo eth+kda --server (POOL:ETH)⁣ --port (AUTO) --user (WALLET:ETH)⁣.(WORKER)⁣⁣ --dserver (POOL:KDA)⁣ --dport (AUTO) --duser (WALLET:KDA)⁣.(WORKER)

All mining clients have some other parameters you can set. You can find the whole list of parameters on their official Bitcointalk threads.
