How to set up T-Rex?

T-Rex is a mining software that focuses on modern Nvidia GPUs (Maxwell and newer). It supports wide range of algorithms on both Linux and Windows systems and you can use it with msOS mining OS or Windows node mining software. The dev fee is set to 1%.

If you want to use T-Rex outside minerstat, you can download it through official sources:

How to set up T-Rex with minerstat?

In this guide we will show you how to set up T-Rex on minerstat for mining ETC. The same procedure can be used for other coins and multi-algo pools.

1. Address editor

Open address editor and save the pool and wallet for mining ETC. In this case, we will save ETC pool under (POOL:ETC) tag and ETC wallet under (WALLET:ETC) tag.

2. Default mining client

Open worker's config and select TREX as a default mining client.

3. TREX config

Update the mining client's configuration so that it will be defined as:

{ "pools": [ { "user": "(WALLET:ETC)", "worker": "(WORKER)", "url": "(POOL:ETC)", "pass": "x" } ], "no-nvml": false, "api-bind-http": "127.0.0.1:4068", "json-response": true, "pci-indexing":true, "retries": 3, "retry-pause": 5, "timeout": 500, "no-watchdog":true, "algo": "etchash", "exit-on-cuda-error": true, "exit-on-connection-lost": false }

(WORKER) tag will be automatically replaced with your worker's name. T-Rex uses algo parameter in which you need to define the algorithm you are mining.

4. Troubleshooting

To start saving logs for T-Rex, add the parameter --log-path trex.txt to your mining configuration.

5. Save changes

Save changes and wait for mining client to restart. You are now mining ETC with T-Rex.
