We currently support 3 different forks of SGMiner: SGMINER-PASC, SGMINER-GM, and SGMINER-AVERMORE. Each of them supports different algorithms and is supported on different systems. There are also different configurations available for each of them, so you must be careful when configuring different versions.
In this guide, we will show you how to mine RVN with SGMiner GM. SGMiner GM was proposed by Genesis Mining and there is no fee for sing it. If we missed any good fork of SGMiner on our list of supported mining clients, let us know and we will add it.
SGMiner GM can be used with minerstat for mining X16R and X16S algorithms. It is available only for AMD and only on Windows.
Open address editor and save the the pool and the wallet for mining RVN. In this case, we will save RVN pool under (POOL:RVN) tag and RVN wallet under (WALLET:RVN) tag.
Open worker's config and select SGMINER-GM as a default mining client.
Update the mining client's configuration so that it will be defined as:
(WORKER) tag will be automatically replaced with your worker's name, so you don't have to change it. As you can see SGMiner GM config also requiers some other parameters, so if you change the coin, don't forget to appropriately update the algorithm's name.
Save changes and wait for mining client to restart. You are now mining RVN with SGMiner GM.
